October is Packed with Fun!

OCTOBER EVENTS

  There's no excuse not to make plans this month. October is packed with things to do in and around Baton Rouge as well as Ascension. Here's a few of many upcoming events.

All month - Visit the Ultimate Haunted house - The 13th Gate! Located at 832 St. Philip Street in Baton Rouge. Guaranteed to scare even the toughest! Don't worry, if you can't handle it, the staff will escort you out. Tickets available online or at the door. ***Fun fact - the Zombie below is my son.


Every Thursday @ 6pm The Oasis in Baton Rouge is offering Free Yoga classes. Bring a mat, a towel, and a friend. All levels welcome. The Oasis is located at 7477 Burbank.

10/10     Bob Segar performs at Raising Canes River Center. This may be your last chance to see him live before he retires.

10/11     Are you "Desperately Wanting" to revisit 1996? Better Than Ezra is playing at Lauberge Casino. 23 years later, I can still sing every word. The show starts at 9pm.

10/16-10/19 Start your Christmas shopping early at Baton Rouge's annual Hollydays. Enjoy food and entertainment while shopping for the perfect gift. Guaranteed to find some very unique items! Hollydays is held at the Baton Rouge River Center. For hours and ticket info visit Hollydays' website.

10/16     Pianist, Latin Jazz composer, and bandleader, Eddie Palmieri and his quintet will be performing at the Manship Theater. For more info and tickets visit www.artsbr.org.

10/18     Las Palmas on Airline in Prairieville will be hosting Kid's Paint Night from 6:30-9pm.

10/19 & 10/20, 10/26 & 10/27  BOO at the ZOO! Families can enjoy "scare free" trick or treating throughout the zoo. This year's event includes an enchanted swamp, hay maze, educational ZooCation station, and hands on animal events at the Wildlife Safari Ampitheater. For more info visit www.brzoo.org.

10/20     Trunk or Treat at Jump & Jive in Prairieville 5-7pm

10/20     Fall Food Truck Festival at Oak Grove Primary. Come enjoy great food, activities, and music while supporting our local schools. A portion of sales will go towards improving the school's playground. 11-2pm. Bring a chair or blanket. 

10/20     French Settlement's 2019 Creole Festival. Hosted by the historical society. Come enjoy food, fun, and crafts from 10-5. The museum will also be open.

10/26     The Pink Party - A party with a purpose! In honor of Breast cancer Awareness month, this party will honor the many cancer survivors and celebrate their lives....all while bringing more awareness to the cause. Hosted at Parc 72 in Prairieville. Tickets are $75 and are available at eventbrite.com.

10/26     LSU AgCenter's Botanical Gardens is hosting a night maze from 6-9pm. Located at 4560 Essen Lane.

10/27     White Star Farmers Market 12-4 @ 4624 Government Street

10/27     Cocktails & Cookie Decorating will be hosted by The Royal Standard (16016 Perkins Road) from 3:00-4:30. For ticket/reservation information please call The Royal Standard. 

10/30     THIS ONE SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!!! Nottoway Plantation is hosting a Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner. Ticket prices are $99-$119 and include the show, champagne and cheese reception, 4 course meal, and a glass of wine. For tickets call 225-545-2730.
